PHOTO NEWS: U.S. Consul General hosts exchange alumni in Lagos to strengthen bilateral ties

The United States Consul General in Lagos, Rick Swart, on Wednesday hosted leaders of the U.S. Government Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria at a special gathering aimed at reinforcing the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Nigeria.
The event brought together national and local alumni leaders of various U.S. government exchange programs, including the Fulbright Program, International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), and Mandela Washington Fellowship, among others.
According to a statement shared via the official U.S. Consulate social media handle, Consul General Swart engaged the alumni on their ongoing projects and community initiatives. Discussions centered on how alumni are leveraging the skills and knowledge gained during their time in the U.S. to contribute to Nigeria’s development and promote mutual prosperity and security between both nations.

“The exchange programs create lasting bonds that continue to benefit both of our countries,” Swart noted during the meeting. “We are proud to see how alumni are applying their experiences to build stronger communities and deepen the U.S.-Nigeria partnership.”
The U.S. Government Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria represents thousands of Nigerians who have participated in educational and professional exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. government.
