PLWDs in APC endorse Bamigbetan for House of Reps race

Leaders representing Persons With Disabilities (PLWDs) in the APC in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II have backed House of Representatives aspirant Kehinde Bamigbetan ahead of the party primaries.
The endorsement was led by Temitope Agbabiaka, who represents PLWDs in Isolo Local Council Development Area APC, alongside Rose Uti of Ejigbo. The engagement was held recently at the APC secretariat in Isolo, Lagos.
Addressing PLWD representatives from ward executive committees and clusters of the blind, deaf and persons with albinism, Bamigbetan commended the Lagos State Government for advancing inclusion through the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA). He also referenced his service in the Ambode administration, which introduced a N500 million Disability Fund.

He pledged to introduce a transportation support programme for PLWDs in the constituency, beginning with dedicated buses in Isolo and Ejigbo to ease mobility challenges.
Bamigbetan also promised to attract local and foreign grants to support empowerment initiatives for persons with disabilities, while calling for stronger inclusion in governance and development programmes.
He, however, opposed proposals for segregated schools for PLWDs, arguing that such arrangements could deepen exclusion and hinder social integration, insisting that inclusive education and infrastructure remain the better approach.

He further pledged to engage federal agencies to ensure PLWDs benefit from available opportunities, and promised to establish a dedicated PLWD desk at his constituency office if elected.
The PLWD leader in Constituency II, Temitope Agbabiaka, commended Bamigbetan for his engagement and expressed optimism about his commitments.
