Police arrest 150 suspects, recover firearms, 100 motorcycles in Lagos raid

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects and recovered 100 unregistered motorcycles, firearms, suspected stolen property and illicit drugs during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts in parts of the state.
The operation, carried out under the ongoing “Operation KO S’AYE,” took place in the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026. According to the command, the raid targeted criminal hideouts at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the command said the operation commenced at about 5:45 a.m. following credible intelligence on the activities of hoodlums and other criminal elements operating in the area.
Adebisi said the coordinated operation involved a joint team of operatives drawn from different formations of the Lagos State Police Command with the objective of flushing out criminals and dismantling their hideouts.
Items recovered during the raid included 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally made double-barrel short gun, two military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and various quantities of illicit drugs.

The police said all 150 suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their individual roles in criminal activities. It added that those found culpable would be charged in court at the conclusion of the investigation.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism and dedication, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining “Operation KO S’AYE” across the state. He said the initiative is aimed at denying criminals safe havens and strengthening the safety and security of residents.
The commissioner also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to assist the police in identifying criminal hideouts, apprehending offenders and improving public safety across Lagos State. He urged residents to make use of the command’s emergency lines to report suspicious activities and other security concerns.
