By Boye Oyeyemi –

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspects over an alleged ₦33 million United Kingdom visa fraud and launched a manhunt for another suspect who is currently on the run.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday evening, saying the arrests followed a petition filed by Legal Komfort & Associates on behalf of an Idanre-based businessman, Adeyeye Aderemi.

According to the police, the complainant alleged that the suspects collected the money in January 2025 under the guise of securing a UK visa for his son but failed to deliver on the agreement.

Jimoh said detectives arrested Olowookere Bunmi and Akinlogbe Olakitan in Akure after preliminary investigations linked them to the alleged fraud.

Investigators reportedly found that Bunmi collected ₦28 million from the complainant and transferred the sum to Olakitan, who claimed he forwarded the money to one Adegboyega Samuel, now at large.

The commissioner of police has ordered an intensive manhunt for the fleeing suspect, directing detectives to deploy technological tools to ensure his arrest.

The police assured residents that the suspects in custody would be charged to court after investigations, while advising the public to exercise caution and verify individuals or agents involved in overseas travel arrangements.
