‎Ex-Aregbesola’s aide throws weight behind Oyebamiji ahead of Osun governorship poll‎ ‎

Former Senior Special Assistant to ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola in Osun State and convener of the Blue Movement, Hon. Wale Alabi, has rallied support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 8, 2026 election.

‎Addressing party faithful and members of the Blue Movement at a rally in Osogbo on Wednesday, Alabi said the group never left the APC but merely operated as a caucus within the party, stressing that its members have remained active over the years.

‎He explained that the event marked the celebration of the Blue Movement’s creation and its formal reactivation and reintegration into the APC, noting that the group has thousands of members across Osun State.

‎Alabi added that efforts were being made to ensure that each member delivers between five and ten votes for the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.

‎He criticised the current Osun State administration, describing it as incompetent, and alleged that despite increased federal allocations following subsidy removal, the state has not witnessed commensurate development.

‎Calling for a return to progressive leadership, Alabi said such a move remains the surest path to development and economic prosperity in the state.

‎Declaring Oyebamiji as the group’s preferred candidate, he said the choice was based on the APC flagbearer’s record and performance in previous public offices.

‎In his remarks, Oyebamiji described the rally as a symbol of unity and confidence, expressing delight over the Blue Movement’s return and urging party members to work closely with the group from the unit to the ward level ahead of the election.
