Police arrest two suspected drug dealers, recover exhibits in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two suspected illicit drug dealers in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti.
Abutu identified the suspects as Promise Faṣọla and Ileri-Oluwa Alao.
He said officers recovered substances suspected to be colorado, Indian hemp and loud from the suspects.
Other items seized include a Point of Sale machine, an Android phone and a power bank.
According to him, the suspects admitted involvement in drug dealing and will be charged to court after investigations.
He added that the arrest followed a raid on a suspected drug hub at Alade Garage area in Basiri, carried out by operatives of the New Iyin Division.
Abutu explained that the operation was based on intelligence gathering and targeted a known drug distribution point.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade, commended operatives for conducting their operation professionally and urged residents to provide timely information to aid efforts in getting rid of criminal elements.
