PDP gubernatorial candidate pledges paradigm shift in Ekiti’s trajectory if elected

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Wole Oluyede, has pledged to usher in a new phase of development, urging residents to reject what he described as “a culture of silence enabling poor governance”.

Oluyede made this declaration in a statement issued by his media aide, Gani Salau, on Wednesday amid calling on voters to support his ambition ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

In his piece, he warned that the increasing cases of hardship, corruption and injustice in society were largely fuelled by public inaction and indifference.

“Silence is not neutral. It gives room for injustice and bad leadership to thrive unchecked,” Oluyede said.

The PDP flag-bearer went further to stress that the citizens must unite to confront poor leadership, warning that failure to act would only embolden those in power.

He equally argued that the decline witnessed in Ekiti since his party lost power in 2018 was worsened by the reluctance of the people to challenge governance failures.

Speaking on his ambition, the candidate said, “I can deliver real change, reduce poverty and reposition Ekiti as a self-reliant and developed state within my first term”.

Oluyede therefore urged electorates to turn out in large numbers and vote for the PDP, indicating confidence that a new era of progress would emerge if citizens take decisive action at the polls.
