Police restore Meranda’s security detail
The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Moshood Jimoh, has said the command had restored the security detail of the Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda.
Jimoh stated this on Thursday while addressing a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja.
The commissioner said Meranda’s security detail was initially withdrawn for audit purposes, adding that the withdrawal was not done out of an ulterior motive.
It would be recalled that security aides attached to the speaker’s office were reportedly withdrawn on Thursday morning.
Jimoh said that the withdrawn security personnel had been reinstated.
He explained that the withdrawal of security details for the Speaker and other Very Important Personalities (VIPs) in the state was part of an ongoing audit of police personnel and firearms.
