Presidency 2023: Akwa Ibom coordinator urges women to keep faith with Tinubu

The Coordinator of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society, AWCS, Akwa Ibom State Chapter; Dr. Mrs. Theresa Edem has assured women of the state that the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader and 2023 Presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would win the presidential ticket of the APC as well as the forthcoming presidential election.

Dr. Theresa who stated this on Thursday while fielding questions from newsmen in Uyo also revealed that, of all the aspirants jostling for Nigeria’s Presidential seat, Tinubu was the only one that has a clear cut plan for the women.

While shedding lights on the activities of her group, the woman mobilizer hinted that at the moment, thousands of women across the country have been captured in the Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society and duly issued with means of identity, awaiting take off of various forms of empowerment.

She said: “…Akwa Ibom women who are members of Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS) would soon have reasons to smile. Our national leadership has put in place various empowerment programmes for the women and would soon kick off.

“As I speak, we have facilities which have been donated for poultry, piggery, fishery, etc, for women who are interested in venturing into any of these areas of farming in Akwa Ibom State.”

When asked on the sustainability of the empowerment programmes, Dr. Theresa continued: “Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society has come to stay. Everyone knows that our principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is going to emerge as the presidential flag bearer of the APC. He will also win the forthcoming presidential election.

“So, being the only presidential aspirant with clear cut plan for the women of Nigeria, every woman will support and vote for him… so, I can only advise the women to remain steadfast with the Asiwaju project. As at now, thousands of women across the country have been issued with appropriate means of identification.”
