Presidency disowns statement attributed to President Tinubu

The Presidency has refuted a statement circulating on social media attributed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The purported broadcast text was claimed to be the President’s reaction to the ongoing planned protest by some groups in Nigeria.

Reacting to the statement, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the statement as “false” via his X account on Saturday.

The presidential aide also urged Nigerians to ignore the text, saying it is the handiwork of mischief makers.

He wrote, “Please ignore the text of an alleged broadcast said to have been made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“It is totally false. It is the handiwork of mischief makers, people bent on sowing confusion and chaos in our country. Please ignore it. President Tinubu has not made any broadcast.”
