President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA), a new initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerians with essential skills, knowledge, and opportunities to enhance their global competitiveness.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the launch event held on Monday at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that NIYA will focus on three key areas: education and skills development, economic empowerment, and leadership and civic engagement.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, urged Nigerians to support the vision of ensuring that every young person in the country has a clear path to success.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, highlighted that NIYA is an all-inclusive, free-of-charge initiative designed to provide employability skills for young Nigerians.
He noted that the program reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to youth empowerment under his Renewed Hope Agenda.
NIYA is part of a broader effort by the federal government to tackle youth unemployment and create opportunities for Nigerian youths to thrive in an evolving global economy.
