President Tinubu mourns veteran State House correspondent, Leon Usigbe

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dr. Leon Usigbe, a seasoned journalist with The Tribune newspapers and a long-serving member of the State House Press Corps.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Dr. Usigbe as a veteran correspondent known for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to ethical journalism.
“Dr. Usigbe was a journalist of rare dedication to truth, balance, and objectivity. His insightful reporting and calm demeanour helped strengthen democratic governance and kept Nigerians well-informed about the workings of the presidency and government,” the President said.
The late journalist was a respected figure among colleagues and public officials alike, admired for his depth, poise, and years of consistent service in covering the presidency.
President Tinubu extended his condolences to Dr. Usigbe’s family, his colleagues at The Tribune, and members of the State House Press Corps.
“May Almighty God grant his soul eternal rest and comfort all who mourn this great loss,” the President stated.
