Presidential aide debunks stroke rumour, confirms Wale Edun’s recovery

The Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications to the President, Sunday Dare, has dismissed rumours about the health of Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, confirming that the minister is recuperating well and in good spirits.
In a statement from Abuja, Dare revealed that he recently met with Edun “over a bowl of amala,” during which the minister expressed gratitude for the concern shown by Nigerians and assured that he was getting stronger by the day.
He clarified that contrary to circulating rumours suggesting that Edun had suffered a stroke, the minister was only recovering from malaria and exhaustion caused by intense work pressure.
According to Dare, Edun remains upbeat and optimistic about returning fully to his duties soon. “The minister is doing well. He’s simply taking time to rest after a bout of malaria and work-related fatigue,” Dare said.
Mr. Edun, a pivotal member of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reform team, has continued to receive goodwill messages from colleagues, business leaders, and citizens across the country.
