Primate Ayodele tells Adelabu conditions for winning Oyo governorship election

Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, a prominent Nigerian cleric, has stirred controversy with remarks concerning the governorship ambition of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, in Oyo State.

In a viral video circulating online, the cleric claimed he possesses a “spiritual formula” required for Adelabu to become governor of Oyo State, warning that without it, the former minister may struggle to achieve electoral success.

Ayodele, while describing Adelabu as his “son” whom he holds in high regard, insisted that the key to his political success was divinely revealed to him. He further suggested that Adelabu’s chances could be tested without his intervention.

He also advised the governorship aspirant to seek him out to obtain the said formula, maintaining that it was necessary for victory in the forthcoming election.

In his words, “My son Adelabu, you are my son. I love you. But you missed it. What you need to become governor is in my hand. Come and take it. If you don’t take it, let APC put you there, you will lose. Let me boast like a prophet. If you get into office without what I have for you, there’s no God. I said it. God told me directly…”

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has yet to formally announce its governorship candidate, unlike some other states where clearer positions have emerged.

Nonetheless, there have been reports indicating that Senator Sharafadeen Alli is being considered as a consensus candidate within internal party arrangements.

However, Western Post also reported that Adebayo Adelabu has dismissed claims of Alli’s adoption as a consensus candidate, stating that no official decision has been made by the party leadership.
