Adejuyigbe assumes new role as Vice Chancellor, University of Medical Sciences Ondo

Professor Ebunoluwa Aderonke Adejuyigbe on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, officially assumed office as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State.
Her resumption follows the release of the white paper based on the report submitted to the Visitor to the University, Hon. (Dr.) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, by the Visitation Panel constituted to review the institution’s affairs.
Professor Adejuyigbe, a renowned Paediatrician, hails from Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Central Office of Research at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, and is a Consultant Paediatrician at the OAU Teaching Hospitals Complex.
An accomplished academic, Professor Adejuyigbe is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Medicine, former Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences at OAU, Vice-President of the African Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases, and Co-Chair of the National Child Health Technical Working Committee.
Her appointment was first announced on Friday, 7th March 2025, following the recommendation of UNIMED’s Governing Council to the Executive Governor of Ondo State.
With her assumption of office, Professor Adejuyigbe becomes the first female and third substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences.
Her leadership is expected to usher in a new era of academic and research excellence at the institution.
