Promote unity, preserve culture – Ladoja tells Yoruba monarchs

By Adejayan Gbenga –

The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has urged traditional rulers across Yorubaland to prioritise peaceful coexistence, unity, and the preservation of Yoruba culture.

Ladoja gave the charge at the weekend while receiving the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, Osun State, Oba Michael Adeyemi Odunayo Adeagbo Ajayi, who paid him a congratulatory visit at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.

He stressed that Yorubaland, and Nigeria as a whole, would benefit greatly from peace and unity, noting that the Yoruba race is blessed with rich cultural values admired globally.

“The Yoruba heritage is cherished and respected worldwide. We must ensure that nothing is done to tarnish these values or our cultural heritage,” the Olubadan-designate stated.

While welcoming Oba Ajayi and his entourage, Ladoja expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of solidarity from Erinmo-Ijesa.

In his remarks, Oba Ajayi described Ladoja’s emergence as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland as an act of divine providence.

“With great joy and heartfelt delight, I extend my warm congratulations on your ascension to the revered throne of Olubadan of Ibadanland,” the Elerinmo said.
