Protesters pull down National Assembly gate

Angry protesters on Wednesday, pulled down the gate of the National Assembly to gain entrance into the premises.
The protesters led by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Joe Ajaero and that of the Trade Union Congress Festus Osifo are protesting the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government and it’s effect on Nigerians.
The demonstration took place at the legislative building, where the protesters initially requested security officials to allow them entry, aiming to peacefully express their grievances.
However, when their pleas were not accommodated, tensions escalated, leading to the forceful removal of the gates by the angered crowd.
As the situation unfolded, security operatives attempted to maintain control and restore order but were unable to prevent the protesters from gaining access to the assembly complex. Upon entry, the crowd channeled their anger, voicing their concerns about the challenges they face on a daily basis.
