Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) ended Arsenal’s Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night, securing a 3-1 aggregate win to book their place in the final of the UEFA Champions League.
The French side, who won the first leg 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium last week, completed the job in the second leg to set up a titanic final clash against Italian giants Inter Milan on May 31 in Munich.
PSG took the lead in the 27th minute and maintained their advantage into halftime, asserting early control of the encounter.
Arsenal’s hopes were further dashed in the 76th minute when Achraf Hakimi doubled PSG’s lead with a precise finish.
Bukayo Saka pulled one back for the Gunners four minutes later, but it proved only a consolation as PSG held firm to seal the win.
This marks PSG’s second appearance in a Champions League final; their first was in 2020, where they lost to Bayern Munich.
The Ligue 1 champions will hope for a better outcome this time as they face Inter Milan, former champions aiming for their third title.
Inter have appeared in six previous finals, winning the prestigious trophy in 1964 and 1965. The clash promises to be a thrilling showdown between two European heavyweights.
