The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Aderemi Oseni, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election in Oyo South Senatorial District after securing victory in all 99 wards across the zone.

Oseni, who chairs the House Committee on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), recorded victory across the nine LGAs that make up the senatorial district during Monday’s primary election.

Party members turned out in large numbers at their various wards to participate in the exercise, which observers described as peaceful and orderly.

Speaking shortly after voting at Community High School, Elenusonso, in Ward 7 of Ido Local Government Area, Oseni thanked APC members for their support and confidence in his aspiration.

He said efforts would immediately begin to unite stakeholders and strengthen cohesion within the party ahead of the general election.

According to him, reconciliation among aspirants and party leaders remained important to building a formidable APC in Oyo South.

“Disagreement over the nomination of candidates in a political party as large as the APC is expected and normal. We are one family, and whatever misunderstanding that may have arisen during the process will be resolved amicably,” he said.

Oseni also commended the peaceful conduct of the primary election and the turnout of party members across the district, describing the exercise as a reflection of internal democracy within the party. He further pledged inclusive leadership and sustained engagement with party stakeholders, stressing that the unity and collective interest of the APC would remain paramount.
