Sanwo-Olu pledges stronger security ahead of year-end activities

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents and visitors that his administration will continue to strengthen security across the state.

The governor gave the assurance during a meeting with security chiefs at the State House, Marina, where he was briefed on security operations and plans ahead of the year-end activities.

Sanwo-Olu said the government would not relent in its efforts to prevent criminals from using the state as a base for their activities.

“We will not relent on our efforts to ensure that criminals don’t find a place for their evil activities in our state,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu also disclosed that Lagos would host President Bola Tinubu from Tuesday, with several religious, cultural and political activities expected to increase movement and attract more visitors to the state during the period.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement that the meeting was attended by the state Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai; Commander, 9 Brigade, Ikeja, Brig. Gen. A.O. Owolabi; and Commander, NNS Beecroft, Commodore A. Adams-Aliu.

Others at the meeting included Air Commodore M.A. Imam, Commander, 651 Base Services Group, Ikeja; Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund; Chief of Staff to the Governor Tayo Ayinde; and Secretary to the State Government Abimbola Hundeyin.
