Sanwo-Olu leads APC’s campaign for Ondo guber election, targets victory

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a 305-member National Campaign Council, led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to steer the party’s campaign for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election on November 16. Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the council would secure at least 80 percent of the total votes for APC’s candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Addressing party members during the inauguration in Akure, Sanwo-Olu encouraged them to support Aiyedatiwa’s reelection bid by running an issue-focused campaign. He assured the APC leadership that the council would work tirelessly and within constitutional bounds to ensure a competitive and peaceful election.
“We will go out with our full chest to campaign for Governor Aiyedatiwa,” Sanwo-Olu stated. “We will not disappoint the party and the people of Ondo State. We’re targeting nothing less than an 80 percent win.”
Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and thanked him for empowering the council to lead the party’s campaign efforts in Ondo.
He emphasized that the campaign would focus on Aiyedatiwa’s achievements during his 305 days in office, avoiding sentiment and focusing on key issues.
In his remarks, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, stating that he expects a wide margin of victory in a fair election. Ganduje urged the council to foster synergy between the state and local campaign teams to ensure a strong grassroots presence.
“We are here to create an enabling environment for a free and fair election,” said Ganduje. “Governor Aiyedatiwa is a lucky man and, with our support, he will continue to bring good governance to Ondo State.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s achievements over the past 10 months, including infrastructure development, agricultural advancement, job creation, and enhanced public utilities. He emphasized his commitment to the people of Ondo, stressing the importance of a peaceful, credible election.
“This election is a defining moment for our party and for Ondo State,” Aiyedatiwa said. “We are campaigning house-to-house and person-to-person, dedicated to a transparent election where every vote counts.”
As the November election approaches, the APC aims to rally its supporters across Ondo State in what party leaders hope will be a significant and decisive victory.
