Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented new official vehicles to senior civil servants in Lagos as part of efforts to improve service delivery in the state.

Western Post confirmed that the beneficiaries are Level 17 officers, who are directors across various ministries, departments and agencies in the state public service.

The vehicles were handed over during a brief ceremony held at the State House in Alausa on Tuesday, being the third time the governor is giving such support to directors in the civil service.

Speaking at the event, Sanwo-Olu said a motivated public service is important for effective governance and development.

He explained that the gesture is meant to encourage diligence, responsibility and commitment among workers in the state.

Lagos State governor added that the initiative would also inspire officers in lower ranks to work hard and grow in their careers.

While highlighting some of the welfare packages his administration has curated so far, Sanwo-Olu disclosed that his government has improved workers’ welfare through various programmes such as the housing loan scheme for civil servants.

In his remarks, the Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, thanked the governor and said the gesture shows the government’s commitment to the welfare of public servants.
