By Mosunmola Ayobami, Ilorin –

Former Senate President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bukola Saraki, has called on party members across Kwara State and the country to actively participate in the forthcoming Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise scheduled to commence on August 18 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He made the call on Tuesday while addressing PDP stakeholders at his residence in Ilorin. According to him, effective participation in the CVR exercise is essential for the party’s success in future elections.

Saraki described the voter registration process as the foundation of any credible electoral engagement and urged party faithful to seize the opportunity to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The voter registration beginning on August 18 is a crucial exercise. It marks the start of the electoral process, and we must treat it with the seriousness it deserves,” Saraki stated.

Providing an update on developments within the party, Saraki said his visit was also to brief members on key issues at the national level and clarify speculations about his involvement in reconciliation and strategic efforts within the PDP.

“I am here today to explain recent developments within our party. I believe it is important that you hear directly from me as I continue to play my role in the reconciliation and strategic planning of our national leadership,” he said.

He commended the performance of Kwara PDP members during the last party membership registration drive, noting that the state has become a reference point for effective grassroots mobilization.

In his remarks, the Kwara State PDP Chairman, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed, reaffirmed the unity of the party in the state and declared the PDP as the foremost opposition party both in Kwara and at the national level.
