Senate screens 14 nominees on day one of ministerial screening

The Senate on Monday, began its screening of ministerial nominees sent to it by President Bola Tinubu.

WesternPost had reported that President Tinubu submitted to the Senate a list of 28 nominees for confirmation as ministers last Thursday.

The nominees who are the first set of ministers sent to the National Assembly started appearing before the red chambers for screening on Monday.

A total of 14 out of the 28 nominees were screened by the senators.

Those who appeared before the Senate are Abubakar Momoh (Edo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Prof Joseph Utsev (Benue), Abubakar Kyari (Borno) and John Enoh (Cross River).

Others are; Bello Mohammed (Sokoto), Mohammed Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Abubakar Sani Danladi (Taraba), Uju Kennedy Ohanenye (Anambra), Bunmi Tunji Ojo (Ondo), Nkeiruka Onyejeocha (Abia), Betty Edu and Iman Suleiman Ibrahim (Nasarawa).
