Shettima leads presidential delegation to mourn late Audu Ogbeh

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday led a presidential delegation to the family of former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, who died on Saturday at the age of 78.

Speaking at the Ogbeh family residence, Shettima described the late elder statesman as “an irreplaceable institution” whose vision and pragmatic approach transformed Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

He said the delegation was in Benue State on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to convey condolences to the family, the government, and the people of the state over the loss.

“We have not just lost a former minister; we have lost a man whose dedication to agricultural renaissance touched millions of farming families across Nigeria,” Shettima said.

The Vice President praised Ogbeh’s contributions to food security and rural development, noting that his integrity, wisdom, and commitment to farmers’ welfare left a blueprint for sustainable agriculture in Nigeria.

He offered prayers for the repose of Ogbeh’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus. Shettima also prayed for strength for his family and the people of Benue State.

Chief Audu Ogbeh who served as Minister of Agriculture from 2015 to 2019, was widely regarded as m a staunch advocate for policies that empowered farming communities across the country.
