Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State to unite and work for the party’s victory in the 2027 governorship election following the emergence of Engr. Mustapha Gubio as the party’s governorship candidate.

Shettima made the appeal on Thursday in Maiduguri during the APC governorship primary where Gubio emerged unopposed as the party’s flagbearer.

The Vice President, who led Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and other APC stakeholders to the primary election, urged party members to put aside their differences and support the party’s collective interest.

He called on members to “bury hatchets, get united and commit to the success of the party, with a view to ensure overall victory for the APC, knowing full well that God gives power to whom he so wishes.”

Shettima said the emergence of Gubio reflected the party’s determination to present credible leadership capable of driving economic growth, improving security and advancing development in Borno State.

According to him, the APC remains committed to the broader agenda of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at ensuring prosperity and a better future for Nigerians.

“Whatever we do here is part of the broader agenda of the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure a better future for Nigeria and Nigerians,” he said.

Governor Zulum, in his remarks, thanked party stakeholders for their support and endorsements during the primary process.
