Singer Spyro reflects on setback after Davido collab

Rising Nigerian music star Spyro has disclosed that he once had a big song with Davido and Mayorkun before his 2023 monster hit, Who Is Your Guy.
He made this known in an interview with HipTV.
Spyro revealed that he experienced a career setback after the collaboration, as the big names stopped picking his calls.
“I had a song back then with Davido and Mayorkun. I actually thought my life was about to change. The song blew up, and then, all of a sudden, everything went downhill.
I sat down and thought about it—how do I go from working with Davido, vibing with Mayorkun and all those guys, to a point where they no longer even pick my calls?”
“I would just sit on the staircase back then and cry, but I had my parents at home to take care of, and a lot of things were going wrong.”
Spyro, who rose to fame in 2022 after the release of his hit song Who Is Your Guy, had collaborated with Davido and Mayorkun on the song Funke in 2018.
