Smart Adeyemi denies controversial publication, vows legal action

Former Kogi State Senator, Smart Adeyemi has refuted a publication attributed to him, describing it as “completely false and entirely fabricated.”

In a statement, Adeyemi reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that he remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He recalled his active participation in Tinubu’s campaign, during which he visited 26 states to lend his support.

“His Excellency, President Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, played an undeniable role in my career and contributed significantly to who I am today,” Adeyemi stated.

Dismissing the alleged publication, Adeyemi clarified that he had neither granted any interview nor held a press conference on any issue. He challenged those spreading the claims to provide evidence of the purported statements.

He further alleged that the false report was a deliberate attempt by his political adversaries to create discord and discredit him before the government.

“My position on the president and his administration remains clear and unambiguous. This is a calculated and malicious attempt to sow disaffection,” he said.

Adeyemi announced that he has engaged his legal team, including senior lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), Barrister Dapo Otitoju, and others, to take immediate legal action against those responsible for the false publication.

He urged the public to disregard the report and vowed to ensure those behind the misinformation are held accountable.

In the offensive report, an online publication had reported Senator Adeyemi reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s well-being over party loyalty, allegedly declaring that he would not support a political party led by an individual with alleged ties to drug-related activities.

The report did not indicate where and when he allegedly made the statement.
