Soludo names Odinkalu, Charly Boy, Bianca, 12 others in peace committee for Biafra agitators

Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo has set up a truth, justice and peace committee to address the agitations of secessionists, insecurity and other challenges in the state.

The committee which has 15 members was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Solo Chukwulobelu on Wednesday.

According to Chukwulobelu, the committee which has former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof. Chidi Odinkalu as chairman is drawn from the five states that make up the South East.

Other members of the committee include Joe Nwaorgu, Udenta Udenta, Uju Agomoh, Jerome Madueke, Okechukwu Obi-Okoye and Charles Oputa (Charly Boy), John Otu, Ngozi Odumuko, Onyeka Onwenu, Joe Abah, Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, Sam Egwuatu and Joseph Ikechebelu with Bianca Ojukwu as secretary.

The panel has six months to make “recommendations for sustainable peace and security in Anambra State and south-east.”

According to the statement, the committee is to identify the remote and immediate causes of the agitations, restiveness, violence, and armed struggle in the south-east since 1999.
