Three other aspirants also contested the primaries. Victor Ategbole polled 6 votes, Barrister John Adanike scored one votes, while Stephen Adeyeri got three votes.

It was gathered that the exercise was moved from Oka Akoko on Friday to a neutral place in Akure as a result of security concerns and likely breakdown of law and order at the initial venue.
