Sophie Momodu, businesswoman and mother of Nigerian singer Davido’s first child, Imade, has formally responded to the artist’s legal suit seeking custody of their daughter.

In her filed response to the Originating Motions, Momodu asserted that Davido, famous for his hit song ‘Aye,’ should not be granted custody.

She argued that the singer’s busy schedule and association with inappropriate friends make him unfit to care for their daughter.

Momodu, who is also the niece of renowned publisher Dele Momodu, highlighted in her statement the potential negative impact of Davido’s controversial lifestyle on their young child.

She expressed concerns that Imade would be exposed to trauma if placed in her father’s custody.

Momodu further claimed that Davido has not been involved in their child’s life for the past two years, reinforcing her stance against granting him custody.
