Speaking at the event, the monarch described the summit as a defining moment in the history of Ogbomosoland, noting that education — the true bedrock of civilization — had finally taken center stage in the community’s development.
He stated that with the success of the summit, Ogbomosoland would never remain the same again, adding that the journey toward becoming a model city had begun.
The monarch expressed gratitude to his friend, Dr. Deji Adeleke, who served as Chairman of the Day and was represented by the Vice-Chancellor of Adeleke University, for his support and commitment to education in Ogbomoso.
He also commended Professor Josiah Ajiboye and members of the Education Committee for their tireless efforts in making the summit possible.
As part of his commitment to the future of young people in the city, Oba Olaoye announced that the five best candidates in the UTME from Ogbomosoland would be awarded full scholarships.
He further promised that the top 30 students would be hosted for a special dinner at the palace. In addition, the principal of the school with the best overall result would receive a reward of ₦500,000.
According to the monarch, these measures mark the beginning of a bigger vision aimed at securing the future of Ogbomoso’s children and making the land a beacon of excellence for generations to come. He emphasized that the story of Ogbomosoland is being rewritten with education at its very heart.
