Stakeholders hail Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda at high-level UNGA 80 side event

Stakeholders from across government, diplomacy, and the diaspora have commended Nigeria for its compelling showcase of progress and vision at a high-level side event held on the margins of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80).
The event, which took place on Monday at the Nigeria Mission House in New York, was convened under the banner UNGA80RenewedHopeGlobal and widely described as a milestone in Nigeria’s renewed engagement with the global community.
In a series of tributes, speakers and participants hailed the side event as a timely demonstration of Nigeria’s developmental priorities and a testament to the transformative Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The gathering provided a platform to highlight achievements across key sectors, while strengthening collaboration between Nigeria’s home-based leadership and its global diaspora.

In his welcome address, Chief Emeka Molokwu, Chairman of Renewed Hope USA, described the event as “a defining moment where Nigeria’s Diaspora and home-based leadership united to project the nation’s achievements.” Echoing this, Ambassador J. K. Adebola, Global Chairman of Renewed Hope Global, praised the event as “a platform that not only showcased Nigeria’s resilience but also reaffirmed her central role in shaping Africa’s destiny.”
Prince Ade Omole, a prominent diaspora leader, emphasized the continued significance of Nigerian communities abroad in national development efforts. “This event affirms how the diaspora remains a vital bridge between home and abroad in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he noted.

The event drew a distinguished roster of dignitaries, including HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Emir of Kano; H.E. Senator Uba Sani, Executive Governor of Kaduna State; Hon. Muhammad Ali Pate, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare; and Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, Minister of State for Youth Development.
Also in attendance were Senator Abiodun Olujimi; Engr. (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Director-General/CEO, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC); Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, DG/CEO, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA); Dr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, NASENI; Mrs. Zubaida Umar, DG, NEMA; and other senior officials from key federal agencies and programmes.

Throughout the event, ministers and agency heads took turns to highlight institutional achievements and outline forward-looking strategies aligned with national priorities. Focus areas included digital transformation, youth empowerment, identity management, social protection, health, science and technology, and financial inclusion.
