The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the State House, Temitope Fashedemi, has called on staff to embrace dedication and excellence in carrying out their duties.

Speaking on Wednesday as he assumed office, Fashedemi emphasized that working in the State House is a privilege that should inspire a commitment to service.

“Anybody who does a self-appraisal will know that you are not necessarily the best Nigerian on that seat, so we must always remember and consider ourselves lucky to be in a position to execute a mandate,” Fashedemi said.

He encouraged staff to maintain a positive mindset and focus on adding value to their roles, stressing that such an attitude leads to a fulfilling career.

“Once we have this understanding, you just do your job and be happy,” he said. “The mistake many people make is to begin to see whatever comes from there as the reason for being there. If you are focused and adding value, you are doing well.”

Fashedemi assured the staff of his commitment to maintaining the progressive momentum established under his predecessor, Olufunso Adebiyi, who has now been posted to the Ministry of Works.

In his farewell remarks, Adebiyi expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure, describing the State House staff as exceptional in their knowledge, commitment, and loyalty.

“They supported me and stood by me. Give them any assignment, and you can be sure they will put in their best,” Adebiyi said, urging Fashedemi to trust in the team’s ability to deliver.

The handover ceremony marked a seamless transition in the administrative leadership of the State House, with Fashedemi pledging to build on the successes of his predecessor in serving the Presidency and the nation.
