Super Eagles goalkeeper suspended over alleged match-fixing
Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has been suspended by his Tanzanian club, Singida Black Stars, over an alleged match-fixing scandal.
According to Tanzanian journalist Samir Sylva (@SamirSylva), the club imposed disciplinary measures on two players following internal investigations into alleged misconduct.
Obasogie was handed a three-month suspension over alleged match-fixing, while Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho received a similar three-month ban for misconduct, reportedly including dereliction of duty and absenteeism.
The club has not released a detailed public statement specifying the allegations against Obasogie, but sources say the action is part of efforts to maintain discipline and protect the team’s integrity.
Obasogie, who has been in contention for national team duties with the Super Eagles, now faces an uncertain future as investigations continue.
