Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has reassured fans that Nigeria’s women’s national team is committed to reclaiming its position as the dominant force in African football by winning the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
Speaking during a Twitter Space session (formerly X) hosted by Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo, Oshoala emphasized the team’s determination to build on recent progress.
“As usual, we have to focus on 2025, seize the opportunity to try again, and get back to winning ways—bringing trophies home like we used to,” Oshoala said.
The Super Falcons boast an unparalleled record of 11 WAFCON titles, with their last triumph in 2018. However, they finished fourth in the 2022 tournament in Morocco, a disappointing result by their high standards.
Despite the setback, Oshoala expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for a strong comeback and a return to championship glory in 2025.
