Supreme Court sets December 15 for verdict on Nnamdi Kanu’s appeal

The Supreme Court has scheduled December 15 as the date for its verdict on the appeals filed by the Federal Government and the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

This decision was reached on Thursday following the arguments presented by the Federal Government’s legal representative, Tijani Gazali (SAN), and counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

The Federal Government is seeking to overturn a previous judgment by the Court of Appeal, which dismissed the treasonable felony charges against Kanu and ordered his release. The Court of Appeal said that Kanu was unlawfully repatriated to the country after he had jumped bail.

On the other hand, Kanu is urging the Supreme Court to uphold the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal and set aside the subsequent order that had temporarily halted the execution of that judgment.
