Tems wins second Grammy in two years

Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has secured her second Grammy Award in two years.
Her remake of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 hit song Love Me Jeje earned her the award for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Earlier in 2023, Tems won her first Grammy for her collaboration with Future and Drake on the song Wait for U.
Tems was nominated in three categories at this year’s ceremony but won in one.
In her acceptance speech, the singer dedicated the award to her mother, whose birthday falls on Monday, February 3. She also expressed gratitude to God, her team, and her friends.
The 29-year-old now joins Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Wizkid as a two-time Grammy winner.
Other winners at the ceremony included Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars.
