Tension gripped residents of Ado-Ekiti on Thursday after the body of an unidentified man was discovered along Ajilosun Road in the state capital.
The lifeless body was found in the early hours near Tosin Aluko’s Garage, prompting alarm among passers-by and shop owners in the area.
Witnesses said the deceased appeared to have been bound with ropes, a development that attracted a crowd as residents tried to make sense of the situation.
An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, alleged that the man might have been restrained and assaulted before his death, although the claim could not be independently verified.
The source further speculated that the circumstances suggested a possible punitive attack, but details surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command later arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and evacuated the body in a patrol vehicle for further examination.
As of the time of filing this report, the police had yet to release an official statement on the identity of the deceased or the cause of death, but confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
