Tinubu appoints Dr. Ibrahim Oloriegbe as NHIA Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe as the Chairman of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) for an initial term of four years, effective March 11, 2025.

Dr. Oloriegbe, a former Senator representing Kwara Central, brings extensive experience in health policy and administration. He previously served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health (2019–2023) and led the Joint National Assembly Committee on Health.

A medical doctor by training, he holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master’s degree in Coaching and Consultation from the University of Oxford and HEC Paris.

He is also a member of key medical organizations, including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), the International AIDS Society (IAS), and the Africa Health Leadership and Management Network.
