Tinubu appoints Namdas as BCDA DG, names Obahiagbon, Umeoji NDPHC directors

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former lawmaker Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

The appointment, announced on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, takes immediate effect.

Namdas replaces Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned from the position to contest an elective office in his home state.

A former member of the House of Representatives representing Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency in Adamawa State, Namdas served as spokesperson of the 8th House of Representatives. He was also a governorship aspirant in the recent Adamawa State primary election.

Before joining politics, Namdas worked as a journalist and public relations practitioner and served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna.

In a related development, President Tinubu appointed former federal lawmaker Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

Obahiagbon replaces Engr. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition.

Obahiagbon previously served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly.

The President also reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC.

Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, had earlier resigned from the same position to pursue a political ambition in his state.

According to the presidency, all the appointments take effect immediately.
