Tinubu celebrates Basheer Lado at 60

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated his Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Basheer Lado, on his 60th birthday, praising his contributions to lawmaking, humanitarian services and relations between the executive and legislature.

Lado turns 60 on Friday, October 16.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Lado as a dependable public servant whose experience in the National Assembly and public administration had continued to benefit the country.

The President said Lado had helped foster cordial relations between the executive and the Senate through his experience in legislative affairs.

Lado represented Kano Central Senatorial District in the 7th Senate from 2011 to 2015, where he served as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works.

Tinubu said the former senator facilitated several constituency projects, including the Kundila Bridge, popularly known as Gadar Lado, in Kano.

He also highlighted Lado’s service as Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons and Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

According to the President, Lado contributed to efforts to combat human trafficking, protect vulnerable Nigerians and improve the welfare and rehabilitation of displaced persons.
