Tinubu celebrates Fashola on his birthday, lauds legacy of service

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos State Governor and immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as an outstanding administrator and patriotic Nigerian whose contributions to governance and national development remain remarkable.

In a statement on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Fashola’s distinguished record in public service, highlighting his achievements as a legal practitioner, former governor, and cabinet minister.

The President commended Fashola’s commitment to progressive governance, integrity in public office, intellectual excellence, and dedication to nation-building.

Recalling Fashola’s service as his Chief of Staff between 2003 and 2006, and later as Governor of Lagos State from 2007 to 2015, Tinubu noted that the former governor built on the foundation of progressive governance through landmark reforms in infrastructure, transportation, security, education, healthcare, environmental management, and public sector administration.

“Fashola’s commitment to excellence, which helped transform Lagos into a model of innovation and sustainable urban development, will continue to signpost him as an outstanding governor and leader,” the President said.

President Tinubu prayed for continued good health, wisdom, strength, and fulfilment for Fashola, expressing confidence that he would continue to make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s growth, unity, and prosperity.
