Tinubu celebrates NiDCOM CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa on 62nd birthday

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), on her 62nd birthday, praising her dedication to public service and contributions to the nation’s development.

In a statement on Thursday, President Tinubu lauded Dabiri-Erewa’s distinguished career, which began in the media as a renowned broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

Known for her expertise in covering human-interest stories, she became a household name while anchoring the popular NTA Newsline program, earning admiration for her empathetic and insightful reporting.

The President commended Dabiri-Erewa for her smooth transition from the newsroom to public service, highlighting her tenure as a Member of the House of Representatives and Chair of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, where she advocated for the interests of Nigerians living abroad.

As Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora and later as the pioneer Chair and CEO of NiDCOM, she has played a pivotal role in connecting Nigeria with its global diaspora, facilitating business and investment opportunities, while ensuring the rights of Nigerian migrants are protected.

President Tinubu also recognized Dabiri-Erewa’s impact as a role model for women in politics, citing her unwavering dedication, courage, and commitment to excellence as an inspiration to Nigerian women aspiring to leadership roles.

The President extended his best wishes for her continued good health and success, praying that Almighty Allah blesses her with many more years of service to the nation.
