President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the families of the victims of Tuesday’s fire outbreak at the Afriland Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President also sympathized with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, and Afriland Properties Limited over the tragic incident.
Tinubu expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
He commended the swift response of emergency workers, including the Federal Fire Service, medical personnel, and members of the public, who assisted in the evacuation efforts.
The President further urged organizations and individuals to exercise greater caution, prioritize safety training, and remain vigilant to prevent similar emergencies.
“May God Almighty receive the souls of the departed and grant quick recovery to the injured,” Tinubu said.
