Tinubu determined to fight poverty, unemployment, education for all, says Shettima in Mangu

All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the weekend reiterated that Nigeria’s unity and peace remain paramount and non-negotiable in its quest for greatness.

This, he said, remains the irreducible decimals if Nigeria and its citizens were to fully harness their potentialities, growth and development.

He affirmed his conviction on the capacity of the APC flagbearer and his Principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to enable this through a sustained policy of justice and fairness as well as devoted fight against poverty, unemployment and provision of quality education for all when elected in 2023.

Shettima stated this in a goodwill message during the coronation and presentation of first class staff of office to Da John Putmang Hirse as the new Mishkaham Mwagavul (Paramount Ruler of the Mwaghavul nation) in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The vice presidential candidate congratulated the Mishkaham Mwaghavul and said the Kanuri people share historical ties with the Mwaghavul people which is well documented and cherished.

He called on all languages that migrated from the Lake Chad basin to do everything within their power and maintain their cordial relationship for their growth and development.

“What binds us together is superior to anything. We need to maintain our relationship, we need peace in this country so that we will harness the potentials of our people. We will fight against poverty, unemployment and ensure education for all,” he stated.

Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Bako Lalong in his remarks, asked traditional rulers in Plateau State to shun partisan politics and concentrate on uniting the people and sustaining peace in their domains.

He warned traditional rulers to shun politicians who want to use them to create division, acrimony and violence in their domains for their selfish political interests.

Lalong while congratulating the Miskaham Mwagavul for ascending the throne of his forefathers, said the new traditional traditional ruler has a very enviable record of service within his community, Plateau State and Nigeria which gives anticipation that he will excell in the onerous assignment.

The Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, represented by the Long Goemai, HRH Martins Shaldas III admonished the people to remained peaceful and united for the growth and development of Mangu and Plateau State.

The Shehu of Borno, who was represented by Prof. Andrew Haruna called for peace and unity of the people.

He thanked the governor for allowing the process of his emergence to be free and fair and for making sure the will of the king makers prevails.
