Tinubu felicitates Senator Kwankwaso on birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Kano State Governor and influential politician, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, on the occasion of his birthday, which falls on Tuesday.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President rejoiced with Kwankwaso’s family, friends, and political associates as they celebrate the former governor’s contributions to national development and public service.

President Tinubu commended Senator Kwankwaso’s record of service in various capacities, including as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in the aborted Third Republic, two-term governor of Kano State, Minister of Defence, and Senator representing Kano Central.

He described the former governor as a pro-people politician whose influence, especially in the North, reflects the legacy of late political icons Mallam Aminu Kano and Alhaji Abubakar Rimi.

“Senator Kwankwaso remains a friend and ally with whom I served in the National Assembly in 1992 and later as governors in 1999. We also worked together in founding the All Progressives Congress (APC). Although he later left to establish the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), it is noteworthy that he remains within the progressive fold,” the President said.

President Tinubu wished the former governor good health and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria.
