President Bola Tinubu has congratulated three Nigerian students for emerging as global champions in English language skills and debate at the prestigious 2025 TeenEagle Global Competition held in London, United Kingdom.
The winning trio – Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli – stood out among participants from across the world. Nafisa was named overall best in English language skills, Rukayya emerged as best in debate, while Hadiza earned the Outstanding Talent Gold Medal.
President Tinubu praised the students for their brilliance, describing their achievements as a source of national pride and a reflection of Nigeria’s rich potential.
“These exceptional young Nigerians have demonstrated that our future is indeed bright, with a growing generation of youth who are repositories of excellence,” the President said in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President also commended the students’ schools and their home states, noting that the success underscores the capabilities of Nigeria’s education system to nurture world-class talent.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education as a cornerstone of national development. He pointed to ongoing reforms, including increased investment in the sector and the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which aims to eliminate financial barriers for underprivileged students pursuing higher education.
The President encouraged the three champions to remain focused in their academic pursuits, wishing them continued success in their educational journeys.
