Tinubu hails Ibadan Chief Imam Agbotomokekere at 90

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy AbuBakr Agbotomokekere, Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Oyo State, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the revered cleric as a symbol of humility, uprightness, and devotion to Allah and humanity.

“Sheikh Agbotomokekere has spent decades promoting peace and unity not only in Ibadanland but also across Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States,” Tinubu said. “His commitment to interfaith harmony serves as a beacon to all.”

The President praised the cleric’s enduring spiritual leadership and his dedication to raising future generations guided by the teachings of the Holy Quran.

Tinubu also commended the Chief Imam for his efforts in fostering religious tolerance and social stability in Nigeria.

He offered prayers for the cleric’s continued good health, strength, and more years of impactful service.

Sheikh Agbotomokekere is widely recognized as a custodian of Islamic values and hails from a distinguished lineage of Islamic scholars.
