Tinubu launches Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday launched the annual Emblem Appeal for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, an event dedicated to honoring Nigeria’s fallen soldiers and veterans.
The ceremony, held at the presidential villa in Abuja, highlighted the nation’s gratitude toward the Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in securing the country.
In his address, President Tinubu praised the Armed Forces for their critical role in defending Nigeria and for recent achievements in tackling various security threats.
He emphasized that security is vital to national peace and development, lauding the military’s commitment to upholding Nigeria’s unity and stability.
As part of the government’s support for veterans and the families of fallen soldiers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, announced a 500 million naira donation on behalf of the federal government.
Following the SGF’s donation, Senate President Godswill Akpabio pledged 200 million naira from the National Assembly, and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa contributed 50 million naira on behalf of all service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police.
